Undercover Crown Forces operatives in the Wattlebridge area

Sinn Féin Poblachtach members in the Fermanagh/Cavan area were contacted by residents living in the Wattlebridge area of Newtownbutler of a suspicious vehicle and two male occupants that had been taking pictures around the area and who seemed to be focusing a lot of their activity near the home of a Republican.

Local republicans rallied to the area and challenged the occupants of the vehicle who had in their possession a Hi-tech camera, a spotter scope, and a pair of binoculars. They also had a small handheld laptop.

They refused to speak when challenged and fired their material quickly into their vehicle and made off at speed.

Republicans chased after them and tried to box them in and in what was described by some there as a move from a stunt film, they evaded being stopped!

Sinn Féin Poblactach got the vehicles registration checked and it was described as off the road. We now believe this to be operatives from the SRR the Special Reconnaissance Regiment or some other tool of the crown forces out to spy on the people of South Fermanagh.

Sinn Féin Poblactach ask everyone to be vigilant at this time and to report anymore suspicious activity to members of Sinn Féin Poblachtach.
